Navigating the Male Voice

What are some specific issues related to the voice change for males? How do we help boys, young men, and older male singers navigate the particular issues of their voice? I researched these questions at the Southern Regional ACDA (American Choral Directors Association) Conference in Mobile, Alabama on March 12 and 13. Two sessions focused on the changing male voice and the changed male voice in particular. I was also able to see a middle school boys’ choir as well as hear many high school and college choirs demonstrating best practices in the changed voice.
