MUSC 205: Leadership in Conducting and Diversity in Music

Research was done over the course of three days at a large regional ACDA conference on the diversity of music and different conducting styles. Poster sessions and presentations were all ways we were able to access information and watch other professionals in how they work. A large diversity of music is offered to many people but not all directors will know the correct or best way to accurately perform these pieces. This conference gave us insight into some uncommon conducting styles and how they are able to help a performance as well as an opportunity to see a diverse group of music performed and explanations for how to plan a diverse program like many of the ones we saw.
