Abstract
The Industrial Revolution produced a culture shift that drastically changed criminal justice in the U.S. This paper applies criminal theory to the Industrial Revolution to determine whether or not crime increased during that period of change. Implications of this project are that the Industrial Revolution's effects changed crime and the criminal justice system in ways that have lasted to today's world.
