Abstract
The objective of this research is to examine historical and current forms of capital punishment. Through the analysis of scholarly written and studies, the paper provides an overview of three different types of analysis in relation to the death penalty. The social, historical, and cultural impacts of the death penalty were examined to see how these three have influenced individual's perceptions of the death penalty throughout time. The use of public executions and their effect were examined to then analyze how this could have altered individual's opinions of the use of capital punishment.
