A meta-analysis to examine the effect of a mouth guard on kinetic variables such as mean and peak power during multiple performance testing strategies, thus integrating the findings of various studies to provide athletes and sport coaches with more reliable evidence upon which to base their choices of utilizing a mouth guard, while also investigating possible mechanisms responsible for any performance enhancements.
