Description
This presentation examines ways nurses can recognize and manage behavioral disturbances in patients with dementia. In order to do so, nurses must first understand dementia and the thought process of dementia patients. With this information, nurses can then respond to disturbance situations appropriately, in ways that positively affect the patient and the nurse, without furthering agitation or aggression in the patient. By implementing appropriate interventions, the nurse can decrease the incidence of behavioral disturbances.
