My research focused on three areas: Diversity in Choral Leadership, Classroom Management, and A Cappella Composition.
Diversity in Choral leadership is focused around the range of which conductors lead their ensembles in performance and how work in the classroom is translated to the stage. More specifically, how do choral conductors embody a wide range of musical styles in leading their singers?
This goes hand in hand with classroom management and how we as instructors are able to focus on being pro-active with strategies to prevent disruptive behavior during rehearsal. What are best practices for efficient and effective choral rehearsals?
I have experience with running an A Cappella group and have taken interest in arranging a cappella compositions, I wanted to seek out more information about best practices in this area and how I can reach back to the fundamentals of composition and develop an improved sense of what it means to be composer.
