Abstract

Go on a journey where you will make critical health- related decisions for Steven to help prevent him from the diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is a disease in which the body does not use insulin well and cannot keep blood glucose at a normal level. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention gathered that 34.2 million Americans, just over 1 in 10, have diabetes and of those, 90- 95% have type 2 diabetes. As you participate in Steven’s journey you will encounter decisions that will impact his diabetes risk related to diet and exercise while also considering non-modifiable risk factors such as family history, age, and the ability to recognize signs and symptoms such as being very thirsty, having blurry vision, or urinating frequently.
