Abstract

As a group, we conducted research regarding standardized testing in the classroom. For our poster, we trace the national legislative history of education and explain the reasons for implementing such tests. We evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of such assessments and their effect on classroom teaching with a focus on the role of creativity and critical thinking in the classroom and their importance for success in higher education and the workforce.
