Abstract

In this research project, I studied over the course of the semester what practices best motivate students who do not enjoy reading in the classroom. I found a variety of information from multiple articles, interviews, and art-based research. From this research, I found that reading aloud to students in the classroom, incorporating choice and the use of manipulative increases students overall engagement and excitement to read.
