Abstract
Perfectionism, as defined by the Merriam-Webster English Dictionary, is 'a disposition to regard anything short of perfection as unacceptable.' In the increasingly competitive academic environment of today, students are becoming more obsessed with perfection than ever before. In this project, I will be researching what the effects of the pursuit of perfection are on a typical college student, as well as explaining how I believe the issue could affect a hall of residents. The best way to combat perfectionism in an academic setting, is to educate students that perfectionism is not only unnecessary in higher education, but it can be harmful to their well-being.
