Proposal Title
The Effectiveness of Intensive In-home Counseling for Children with Trauma Histories
Topic
Counseling
Description
The treatment of childhood trauma has continuously evolved with the discovery of new counseling approaches. Intensive in-home counseling is one of the most recently developed models of treatment. Research has shown that this model allows children and parents to collaboratively recover from trauma and learn new coping strategies. However, there remains a need for further investigation of this form of treatment for complex trauma. This proposed study will interview parents of children receiving these services to examine their effectiveness and aspects that could be improved.
