Description

Objective: The purpose was to find issues in the health care setting due to common nurse staffing levels.

Background: In the study it has shown that with high nurse-to-patient ratio levels, clinical practice errors and mistakes occur, along with only a small number of states enforcing mandated nurse-to-patient ratios in healthcare facilities.

Methods: We conducted a systematic literature review to examine the relationship between nurse-staffing and hospital conditions. This is because it was not a study, but a literature search and data evaluation.

Results: That lower nurse-to-patient ratio is more beneficial for quality and effectiveness of care.

Conclusion: In the clinical setting, when there is a lower nurse-to-patient ratio the patients are more likely to receive high quality of care, and less errors are likely to occur.
