Proposal Title
Writing as a Balancing Act
Description
As writers we're constantly balancing opposing elements in our work and our writing life: the art and the industry, the teacher and the author, our private life versus the public eye, fact and fiction, dynamic characters and engaging story-lines, showing versus telling, crafting active scenes while including relevant passages of narrative summary. With the publication of my second novel and the birth of my son, I've become increasingly aware of this balancing act. During this session we will explore our role navigating this dichotomy and ways we can manage the balancing act. This conversation will include time for Q&A.
