Description

The author of two novels for young readers set in Germany 1918 and 1945 describes how primary and secondary sources as well as family memoirs influenced the creation of fictional characters and plot. She also discusses the importance of historical accuracy when writing historical fiction. Participants will gain insights in the research and writing process of two novels with ample curriculum connection and topic for classroom discussions. Classroom resources will be provided.
