Description

Obesity, a common and costly health issue that increases risk for heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and cancer, affects more than one-third of adults and 17 percent of youth in the United States. In 2013, 29% of Prince Edward residents were classified as physically inactive as compared to 24% of Virginians and 21% of Americans (County healthrankings.org, 2018). The priority population are overweight and obese individuals in Prince Edward County.
