The Effectiveness of Parental Involvement in Early Literacy Development

Description

When children start their schooling career, literacy development is immediately present and is key to their academic success. Parental involvement is widely believed to be critical to children’s early academic development. Research shows various factors are linked to a child’s literacy development, including socioeconomic status, parent depression, and single-parent status. Research has proven there are different ways in which parents can learn how to enhance their child’s literacy development, one of which includes the establishment of a home literacy environment.
