Abstract

This thesis investigates the problem of “dead zones” in large bodies of water, specifically in the Chesapeake Bay. Using readily available weather and environmental research from several summer tropical cyclones, this thesis analyzes the possible impact of such storms on the Chesapeake Bay’s ecology and health as a body of water, looking at levels of different nutrients and the growth of algal blooms.
