Seahawks Soaring to a Higher Quality of Life

Topic

HARK

Description

St. Clare Walker Middle School (SCW) currently has a ‘Biggest Loser’ competition for the faculty and staff to participate in. There are roughly 38 faculty and staff members. The competition allows for the faculty and staff to participate in a 10 week weight loss competition. The winner receives a cash prize. The program was added to encourage the faculty and staff to increase their quality of life. I was able to add additional support to the program by suggesting implementation strategies and providing additional resources to the staff participants. The suggestions are supported by different health models. With the changes suggested, it will hopefully encourage more faculty and staff to participate in the program. The program will hopefully encourage the participants to encourage other colleagues and their families to incorporate a healthy lifestyle.
